SWING BRIDGE TRANSPORT
A 130 meter long swing bridge - the largest in Europe - was to be positioned at the Verbindingsdok in Zeebrugge by leading international steel construction company Victor Buyck.
Survey Bureau De Keersmaecker was charged with the supervision of various transport routes, including carriage by Self Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) from the warehouse as well as positioning and securing on a pontoon to navigate from the port of Ghent to the port of Bruges.
This involved the calculation of stability for safe river and sea passage from the river Scheldt via the North Sea to the port as well as the evaluation of weldings.
The rotation bridge was safely transported to the location of installation.
